I literally cannot believe it’s already over…. 😭
Since mid March I’ve had the incredible opportunity to coach with the Girls on the Run program for Haisley Elementary’s 3rd-5th grade girls. This was my first time coaching GOTR, so I had no idea what to expect, but I’ve been blown away by it all. The kiddos were a fantastic group and there were so many valuable lessons included in the curriculum from building self esteem to teamwork and community. Of course I also loved having the opportunity to provide the girls with all types of running advice as well.
This past weekend our GOTR team crushed their 5K event. 🏃♀️🥇It’s been such a rewarding experience overall, coaching these ladies, getting to know each of them and working with my fellow coaches. Beaming with pride I watched them celebrate all of the hard work they put in. Week after week these girls focused on activating their own star-power⭐️, supporting their teammates 💪🏻 and going at their own happy pace. Just amazing 🤩
I was especially excited that my daughter to able to attend the 5K and join in the fun as well. We made each girl the cutest personalized keepsake keychain (aka backback bling) and wrote each of them a congratulations note. The parents surprised the coaches with flowers and gift card – so so thoughtful. This is most definitely something I look forward to doing again.
