Wow… I have so many thoughts and emotions about my 2024 Boston Marathon experience. This was my first time running this amazing event, and I’m certain I will never be same. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to have the opportunity to participate in such an amazing event and to share this with my family. The Marathon can lift you up and it can bring you to your knees… That is the beauty of the sport and this distance. Boston was no exception.
I knew it was going to be tough before I even went out…. Warm temps and a much later start time than I’m accustomed too. Each mile got tougher and tougher- told my family at mile 16 I never wanted to quit something more. Knowing I never wanted this victory lap to turn into a suffer fest, I promised myself that if at any point I felt like 💩, I’d pull back- and that I did. I walked all the remaining water stations and worked to just take in all the crowds had to offer. Not an ideal finishing time- but definitely a full heart and one to remember.
Thought this would be a one and done, but I know I have more to give to this epic course.
Til next time Boston 😘💙💛🦄
